Join us for 3 magnificent days scrambling/easy climbing on the world-famous Great Ridges of Ben Nevis.

The North Face of the Ben is a veritable playground for the mountaineer – steeped in history and covered in classic routes. The Great Ridges are justifiably famous and offer a variety of interesting ways to attain Britain’s highest summit.

The core aim of the course is to ascend the big three of “Tower Ridge” (Diff/V.Diff – 800m), “Observatory Ridge” (V. Diff – 500m). and “Castle Ridge” (Grade III/Mod – 280m) over the three days. If the weather is poor, then routes such as Ledge Route (grade I-III – 500m) or even the CMD Arete (grade I) are good fallback options, as are lower, more sheltered climbs on the buttresses. Likewise, if the team is strong and the weather is good, North-East Buttress (Severe) or other easy rock climbs may factor in the agenda.

The maximum ratio will be 1:3, but we aim to operate on a 1:2 ratio where possible to give you the most attentive instruction and personal coaching.

Tackle Britain’s Highest in Style!

The trip will be run by Neil personally. Neil has enjoyed climbing on the great ridges and buttress of Ben Nevis since he was a young boy. Having run summer and winter climbing and mountaineering trips here for nearly a decade, he knows the area intimately and is extremely passionate about it. As a qualified Mountaineering and Climbing Instructor, he can lead, guide and instruct you, while offering coaching, tips and instruction throughout, as well as the physical security of a rope if required. You will be in the safest of hands, allowing you to tackle these magnificent climbs and scrambles with confidence and security. The focus is on your development and enjoyment of this wonderful place.

Group sizes are kept very low to maximise your safety, learning and enjoyment.

A high standard of fitness is required for these 3 challenging big days. ⛰️⛰️⛰️

We would recommend and welcome you to stay in our lovely home village of Roybridge! With an array of accommodation options from hotels to camping, B+Bs and bunkhouses, you will be well served here. We have the added benefits of being able to discuss the following day’s plan socially the night before, and sharing transport to the course. The trip to the upper car park of the Ben is under 20 minutes from here, allowing us a shorter walk in each day and maximising our time on the hill. If staying in Roybridge, you are also welcome to take advantage of our drying room!
