Looking to make the progression to leading trad outdoors? This course will teach you and your partner how to trad climb safely and personal abseiling techniques. You will be instructed in gear placement, building anchors, belaying a second, stripping climbs, installing top ropes and basic problem solving and avoidance. You will also receive personalised coaching on movement, technique, and ways to improve your grade.

In order to get the most out of this course, you should already been a competent toprope climber and belayer, ideally operating at at least 6a.

As a qualified Mountaineering and Climbing Instructor, he can instruct and coach you in the art of trad climbing. You will be in the safest of hands, allowing you to develop your own skills with confidence and security. As part of a very small group you can be assured of receiving high-level instruction and personalised coaching and action plans.

*Personal climbing fitness and currency should be at a good level in order to get the most out of the course. Some previous experience climbing (at least) indoors is required.

**Exact course content and routes will depend on participants’ abilities, currency and fitness. We pride ourselves on being able to cater for and improve the vast majority of climbers’ knowledge, technique or ability.

*** At this level of course, it is expected that you will already have your own climbing PPE (i.e: harness, shoes, belay device) and have used it regularly indoors.
