Interested to try scrambling but don’t know where to start? Want to learn new skills, to tackle more complex hills with confidence and in safety? Looking to overcome a fear of heights or improve your movement and ability on steeper, more exposed terrain?
This one day workshop will introduce the fundamentals of scrambling techniques, as well as the foundations of basic guided scrambling ropework.
Day 1: introductory scrambling on easy ground. Coaching, footwork and confidence-building in a variety of terrain
Day 2: intermediate scrambling with the use of a rope by instructor to safeguard more tricky sections
Whilst Munro-bagging is not the primary objective of this course, we will aim to take in at least one major peak on our travels. This course is very much the core of what Dubh Mor is all about: giving you the skills and confidence to “Do More” than you thought possible! 😊
The trip will be run by a qualified Mountaineering and Climbing Instructor (MCI), who can lead, guide and instruct you, offering coaching, tips and instruction throughout, as well as the physical security of a rope when required. We are extremely passionate about using the environment as a vehicle for your self-development. You will be in the safest of hands, allowing you to tackle the scrambles with confidence and security and gain valuable skills to put into practice on your own days out!
Group sizes are kept low to maximise your safety, learning and enjoyment.
A decent standard of fitness is required for this introductory day. ⛰️
